The highly anticipated rematch between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn on November 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will feature a compelling undercard, headlined by a former undisputed world title challenger.
This isn`t the first time this venue has hosted such a spectacle. In April, the previous Eubank Jr vs Benn event included notable bouts like Liam Smith vs Aaron McKenna, Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur 3, Cheavon Clarke vs Viddal Riley, and Chris Billam-Smith vs Brandon Glanton.
This time, five exciting matchups are confirmed for the undercard. The main support bout will see welterweight Jack Catterall (31-2, 13 KOs) take on Ekow Essuman (22-1, 8 KOs). Catterall, a Chorley southpaw now training with the esteemed American coach Bozy Ennis, and Essuman both share Josh Taylor as a past opponent. Catterall finally defeated his rival in May 2024, while Essuman significantly boosted his career by upsetting Taylor in Glasgow four months later.
Super-lightweight prospect Adam Azim (13-0, 10 KOs) is set to return after a nine-month hiatus to face lightweight contender Zaur Abdullaev (20-2, 12 KOs). Abdullaev, a Russian fighter, previously lost a points decision to Raymond Muratalla for the IBF interim title in May. Now stepping up a weight class, Abdullaev will present a significant challenge for the swift Azim, who last stopped veteran Sergey Lipinets in February.
In other heavyweight action, former cruiserweight Richard Riakporhe (18-1, 14 KOs) will battle Tommy Welch (16-0, 9 KOs). Riakporhe, now under the guidance of Billy Nelson, was originally scheduled to fight Lawrence Okolie in April, a bout that was cancelled due to Okolie`s injury. Welch, the son of former British heavyweight champion Scott, has a strong unbeaten record built over six and eight-round contests, but this fight marks a considerable step up against a former world cruiserweight title challenger.
The undercard also features former English and Commonwealth super-welterweight champion Sam Gilley (18-1-1, 9 KOs) against Ishmael Davis (13-3, 6 KOs), who recently endured a tough decision loss to Caoimhin Agyarko in Belfast.
Completing the line-up is flyweight Mikie Tallon (10-0, 1 KO). Trained by Joe Gallagher and fresh off a win in Las Vegas, Tallon will compete in his eleventh professional bout against Fezan Shahid (4-2-2).
